Our Honest Diagnosis Policy

Proper diagnosis takes skilled technician time. Our policy is straightforward and fair:

Gearbox issues are always diagnosed free. Diagnosing a transmission properly is what we do best. If your gearbox is slipping, jerking, in limp mode, or showing fault codes, bring it in. No charge, no conditions.

For all other issues (engine, aircon, electrical, suspension, brakes, etc.), diagnosis is free when you proceed with the repair at our workshop. If you choose to repair elsewhere, the diagnosis is $60, and you receive a $60 credit valid for any future repair or service with us. The credit never expires.

Most workshops in Singapore charge a flat diagnostic fee regardless of outcome and never give it back. We give it back. We do this because skilled technician time costs real money, and we want to keep diagnosis accessible for customers who genuinely intend to repair.

What We Do Not Cover

For transparency, here is what falls outside our scope:

• Passenger cars only. We do not service vans, trucks, or lorries, except for van gearbox work
• No work on cars more than 20 years old
• No body work, dent repair, spray painting, or scratch repair (we focus on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC)
• No headlight lens replacements
• No on-site or roadside repairs and diagnosis. The car must come to our workshop
• No customer-supplied parts. This avoids disputes over quality and compatibility
• No engine, gearbox, or aircon flushing. We do not use additives
• No modifications, retrofits, or coding of features not in the original factory spec
• No OBU / ERP 2.0 installations
• No car accessories such as sound systems, dash cams, solar films, body kits, GPS, audio, reverse cameras, tuning, or upgrades

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in your gearbox overhaul price?

Our standard gearbox overhaul covers all consumable parts inside the gearbox: clutch, seals, gaskets, transmission filter, and transmission oil. It excludes the casing and parts outside the gearbox (engine, flywheel, control modules, torque converter, valve body, oil pan, auto cooler) which do not need replacing if they are not spoilt. Transmission control modules and valve bodies are quoted separately unless your car has an integrated mechatronic unit. We tell you upfront exactly what is and is not in the quote.

What is included in your engine overhaul price?

A full engine overhaul covers pistons, piston rings, piston bearings, timing chain, head gasket, valves, valve seals, valve cover gasket, and spark plugs. It excludes connecting pipes and hoses, skimming, ignition coils, and sensors which are quoted separately if required. A top overhaul covers head gasket, valves, valve seals, valve cover gasket, and spark plugs only. Both options come with our 3-year / 60,000 km warranty.

Do you charge for diagnosis?

Gearbox diagnosis is always free. For all other issues (engine, aircon, electrical, suspension), diagnosis is free when you repair with us. If you choose to repair elsewhere, the diagnosis is $60 and you receive a $60 credit usable anytime for future work at our workshop. The credit never expires. We do this because skilled diagnosis takes real technician time, and the policy keeps it fair for both customers and our team.

Is independent servicing safe for cars still under warranty?

Yes. Under the EU Block Exemption Regulation and equivalent fair-trading principles applied in Singapore, you can service your car at any qualified independent workshop without voiding the manufacturer warranty, as long as the work is done to manufacturer standards and OEM-spec parts are used. We document everything to the standard required.

How much does car servicing cost in Singapore for European cars?

A standard service at a Mercedes, BMW, or Audi dealer in Singapore typically costs $800 to $2,500 depending on model and interval. The same service at our specialist workshop costs a fraction of dealer pricing, using the same quality of parts. Specific quote depends on your car and service requirements. Do you service hybrid cars?

Yes. We service hybrid Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Volvo, and most other European hybrids. We are equipped for high-voltage systems and hybrid battery diagnosis.

Do you use genuine parts?

We use OEM parts (genuine) when required and OEM-equivalent parts when they perform identically at lower cost. You choose. We always quote both options when relevant. We never substitute lower-quality parts without your explicit approval.

What is the longest warranty on car servicing in Singapore?

We offer 2 years or 40,000 km on gearbox overhauls and 3 years or 60,000 km on engine overhauls. To our knowledge, this is the longest workmanship warranty offered by any workshop in Singapore for these services.

Do I need an appointment?

Can you handle dealer-only services like Mercedes Star Diagnosis or BMW ISTA?

Yes. We have dealer-grade diagnostic equipment for Mercedes (XENTRY/DAS), BMW (ISTA), and most European manufacturers. We can perform service resets, coding, and adaptations that other workshops cannot.
